Earlier today Del Rey's Erich Schoeneweiss took to the Star Wars Books on Facebook page to tease the following...
"I read some really exciting Star Wars short stories over the weekend. Part 8 of John Jackson Miller's LOST TRIBE OF THE SITH series was brilliant. A new Paul Kemp short for STAR WARS INSIDER starred two of my new favorite characters and was a blast. Finally a fantastic new story by a fan favorite author that...well, I'll let David tell you about that one soon. (ES)"
To follow up, Erich noted that the final Lost Tribe of the Sith installment, Secrets by John Jackson Miller, will be released on March 5, 2012. Like the other installments, this will be released as a free e-book download. John Jackson Miller also posted a reminder that a print version of the Lost Tribe of the Sith series, with new material, will be released on July 31, 2012.
And about that "new story by a fan favorite author" noted by Erich above, Del Rey's David Pomerico certainly delivered the goods...
"I do indeed have big news: I am just about to send along a new story to STAR WARS INSIDER, for Issue 130, out on December 13th.
It's called "The Tenebrous Way," tying into the DARTH PLAGUEIS novel by James Luceno.
And...it's written by Matthew Stover! (DP)"
Matthew Stover returns to the GFFA and is tying into the Darth Plagueis novel no less! Good stuff all around! Hopefully this will lead to a new full Star Wars novel from Stover in the not-too-distant future, but let's be happy with what we are given in the meantime. If you happen to be unfamiliar with Matthew Stover's contributions to the EU, he penned the Revenge of the Sith novelization, Star Wars: Shatterpoint, Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Traitor, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor and the short story, Equipment.
So here is how the next few months of Star Wars Insider short stories are scheduled:
