WARNING SPOILERS!!!! Tash and Zak are orphans from Alderaan. They now travel through the galaxy with their alien Uncle Hoole. He says he's a scientist, but is he really?
They land on the planet D'vouran and meet the friendly locals. However, people are disappearing. Could it have something to do with a certain experiment by Darth Vader's Mad Scientist?

I had to look at this book from the perspective of it's target audience, the 9 - 13 yr. old range. (Some would say that's not too hard for me!) Anyway, this book was actually entertaining. While I would not recommend it to older readers, especially for $5, it was a fun little story. It had a lot of cameos by Luke, Leia, Chewie, Han, R2, 3PO, and Darth Vader. It also had a lot of action. I admit I was skeptical of this Goosebumps format before I read it, but the story came off OK. Most of the scary stuff had to do with things jumping out at you.
Scott:
I was thinking most people would accept this as Star Wars canon till I found out the secret of what was eating all the people. Was it some berserk creature that Vader's henchmen created? No, it was the planet itself! It was created by the Empire and it lived off of eating people! That's when my engineering mind kicked into overdrive and wouldn't let me enjoy it anymore. Oh, well, it is a kids book. Still, at least the plot wasn't predictable. I never would have thought the planet was doing it!
Scott:
The Hutt's name in this book was Smada. All the rest of the story when I saw his name, I thought "What Smada?" Yeah, I know, pretty ugly!
