As the new Jedi at the Jedi Academy continue to learn the ways of the Force, one of the students begins to follow the ways of the Sith. Under the teaching of the ghost of Exar Kun, the student threatens the future of Luke and the Jedi Academy. Kyp Durron also begins learning how to use his hidden, powerful Force ability.
Meanwhile, as the New Republic decides what to do with the newly captued Sun Crusher, Admiral Daala and her fleet begin conducting guerrilla attacks on Alliance worlds. High on their list is Admiral Ackbar's home planet of Calamari. Wedge also begins to fall in love with the scientist who created the Death Star, Qui Xu (sp?).
Scott:
Again, this was a very fast paced, action packed novel. I really enjoyed learning about the Sith and seeing Luke begin to train this new generation of Jedi. The attack on Admiral Ackbar's home planet was exciting and interesting. I also felt Kyp's progression through different levels of the Force was well done. I liked seeing Wedge finally get a chick and visiting the Ithorian homeworld. I found this to be a fun novel. The ending was a real cliff hanger, which I really liked, too.
Scott:
Again, I thought Admiral Daala turned out to be an outdated wimp and not near as bad as her rep. made her out to be. I also was surprised to see the Alliance throw away the Sun Crusher so quickly. I would have thought they would have studied it a little bit more than they did in order to improve their ships.
Scott:
The results of a Sith ghost getting ticked off at you. Can you say Well Done?
