The Force Unleashed - Wii Platform

I had the wonderful opportunity to play the new Lucas Arts game, The Force Unleashed. I was selected to play the game on the Nintendo Wii platform.

You start the game as Darth Vader. This level is basically a tutorial and helps explain the starting point of the Secret Apprentice storyline. The first level also helps you learn all the button and force power combinations.

There is an added bonus to playing the game on the Wii. You can use the Wiimote as your light saber. But the drawback is that the camera angle is 3rd person, not 1st person. The good thing, though, is you can interact with everything using the Force. You can break walls, throw objects, and detonate bombs. Also in every level, there is something you can do to instantly kill your opponents. Throw them through walls, into other groups of people, or off cliffs / platforms.

The characters are rendered in exquisite detail. And in dual mode there are 32 different playable characters. The available characters are from the movies as well as the expanded universe.

In multiplayer death match, special to the Wii, PSP, and the DS you can play against another person. You can play in nine different levels; I played on Tatooine, and Coruscant. It is similar to duel mode on the box levels with the camera angle way back so you can see everything. You can ales collect power-ups, like no damage, or a boost to become Unleashed. When you are Unleashed all of your stats are maxed-out. You are not invulnerable but are super charged. The main way to become Unleashed is to do enough damage to your opponent, or taking damage yourself. But back to death match, a very important point to death match is that everything is a weapon. Statues, cliffs, even pots can do massive damage to your opponent.

All in all, this is a great game and I would recommend it to everyone.
