Let's face it, it's kind of a slow Memorial Day weekend so let's do a little catching up with highly anticipated sequel to The Force Unleashed. While we've been reporting on the latest TFU II site updates, there is a lot of new information out there besides the new "Patient 1157" scene and mini games.
And so here are some cliff notes to bring you up to speed...
(SPOILER WARNING: While we left most of the juicy details to the source links, some of the info contained in the cliff notes could be considered SPOILERS)
- Release date: October 26, 2010
- Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC
"In the sequel, Starkiller returns with over-the-top Force powers and embarks on a journey to discover his own identity and to reunite with his one true love, Juno Eclipse. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Starkiller is once again the pawn of Darth Vader?but instead of training his prot?g?e as a ruthless assassin, the dark lord is attempting to clone his former apprentice in an attempt to create the Ultimate Sith warrior. The chase is on ? Starkiller is in pursuit of Juno and Darth Vader is hunting for Starkiller."
- The original TFU was set approximately a year and a half prior to A New Hope while the sequel is set approximately 1 year prior
- The Force Unleased II kicks off on Kamino as Starkiller is a clone this go 'round. Details of this can be read in the TFU IIGamePro article which is now online.
- Dagobah and Cato Nemoidia will be featured (again, more details in GamePro)
- The TFU sequel may include less emenies to combat than its successor, while those whom you do come across will be more powerful with better coordinated attacks
- Expect more puzzles and a different all around pacing from the original
- New Force powers include: Force Grenade, Mind Trick, Force Fury
- Doesn't look like multiplayer will be just for specific consoles with TFU II
- TFU II will be compatible with PlayStation Move
- The Wii version will include a 4-player "Force showdown" mode
And as for TFU II tie-ins...
- Sean Williams is penning the official novelization which is currently listed for an October 5, 2010 hardcover release.
