TFU: USE & Elite Squadron Out Now!

Posted By Mike on November 3, 2009

Not only do we get the DVD/Blu-ray release of Season 1 of The Clone Wars today, but we're also treated to a double shot of Star Wars video games.

The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition rolls out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 with 3 new levels and other goodies to be enjoyed by the Starkiller enthusiasts out there. The PC version has been available since October 23rd. Click here for our TFN review of The Ultimate Sith Edition if you have yet to do so.

Handheld gamers can also now pick up the latest addition to the Star Wars Battlefront franchise, Elite Squadron, for the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS. Keep checking back for our TFN review a bit later in the week. There's a lot of fun to be had with this one and I don't want to miss anything for the review.

Let's not forget that Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes was released not too long ago on multiple platforms. We reviewed that one as well right here!

There's no shortage of Star Wars related releases this fall (especially considering we're also in the middle of TCW S2) so have fun with it all!

UPDATE: Got official LucasArts press releases for both games that came out today in case you're interested:

Star Wars? The Force Unleashed? Ultimate Sith Edition Now Available!

New Premium Edition Includes New Hoth Bonus Level, Special Edition Art Book and Limited Edition Collectible Art Cards

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. ? Nov. 3, 2009 - LucasArts today announced that Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition is now available for the Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation?3 computer entertainment system, and for the first time ever, PCs. The Ultimate Sith Edition shows gamers the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition includes all of the original missions found in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as well as content previously only available via download and an all-new bonus level set on the planet Hoth. It comes packaged in a premium case along with a special edition art book and collectible art cards that showcase the memorable characters in the game.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force and casts players as Darth Vader?s ?Secret Apprentice,? unveiling new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy seen through the eyes of a mysterious new character. Originally released in September 2008, the game quickly became the fastest-selling Star Wars game ever, and has since sold nearly seven million units worldwide.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition combines the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogame and three new levels to create the definitive ultimate-evil exploration of the period between the two Star Wars movie trilogies. The additional content includes two levels set on Coruscant and Tatooine previously only available via direct download, and an all-new bonus level available only in the Ultimate Sith Edition package.

The exclusive level concludes the ?Infinities? storyline set up in the Tatooine mission, as the Secret Apprentice is sent to the planet Hoth to crush the Rebellion once and for all. While on Hoth, players face Luke Skywalker himself while visiting iconic locations seen in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

Star Wars Battlefront?: Elite Squadron? For PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) System and Nintendo DS? Now Available

Epic Multi-Level Battlefronts, Deep Original Story and Hugely Expansive Gameplay Features Invade Retail

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. ? November 3, 2009 ? LucasArts announced today that Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) system and Nintendo DS? is now available at retailers.

For the first time ever in the Star Wars Battlefront? series, players will be able to fight on multi-level battlefronts both on the ground and in space. Players can start the fight on foot, commandeer a vehicle to battle on the ground or dogfight in space, and land their craft and fight on capital starships. The battles waged on each front are all directly affected by the player?s actions, creating a combat experience where every shot fired and every enemy defeated can affect the outcome of a battle on another front.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron features a deep and engrossing single-player campaign that spans the entire Star Wars? Saga ? and beyond. Players assume the identity of X2, a clone trooper created from the DNA of a Jedi Master. Originally tasked with eliminating Jedi during Order 66, X2 decides to leave his blood-stained past behind and join the Rebellion. However, X2 isn?t the only Force-sensitive clone. X1, his clone brother, chooses a much more sinister path, leading to a confrontation that could determine the fate of both the Empire and the Rebellion.

Additionally, players have at their disposal massive amounts of pick-up-and-play action for seemingly endless replay value. The PSP system provides the deepest customization options ever seen in a Star Wars Battlefront title, allowing players to personalize and outfit their character with more weapons and items than ever before. Customization options include selection of the weapons characters carry into battle, the armor they wear on their backs, their species, gender, appearance and physical strengths. Players can also unlock hundreds of new achievement items and bonuses to further personalize their characters. On Nintendo DS, players can experience a unique class-based gameplay experience that allows them to outfit their characters with pre-determined weapon armaments, including heavy weapons, blasters and even lightsabers. Choosing the right character class will help players overcome obstacles and complete mission objectives.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron on the PSP system supports 16-player multiplayer, complete with in-depth stat tracking and on Nintendo DS, intense 4-player skirmishes across a wide number of modes are featured, including the all-new ?Heroes and Villains? mode. Take up arms as some of the most iconic Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Kit Fisto, Darth Maul and other familiar faces from Star Wars Battlefront?: Renegade Squadron? and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed?. Battle for the fate of the galaxy on some of the most memorable Star Wars planets of all time, including the forest-covered landscape of Endor, the frozen wastes of Hoth and even the mysterious Yavin 4.

More information about the game can be found at the official website, www.starwarsbattlefront.com.
