"Just to let you know the official launch event for the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogame in Portugal was a huge success.

Organized by the SWCP, Star Wars Clube Portugal, with direct support from games' distributor Ecofilmes and the FNAC Colombo mega-store, we had the extreme pleasure of seeing FNAC's auditorium full of enthusiasts and costumed fans, including three club members dressed as Jedi Knights, to watch a few TFU videos, hear the amazing soundtrack and the panel presented by the Ecofilmes representative and the SWCP's president and co-founder, Jos? Fi?za, talking about the game, the whole SW:TFU Project development and integration with the Star Wars universe.

In a session that started at 10 pm on September 18 and lasted until the wee hours of the official Sept. 19 release date, a Star Wars costuming/cosplay contest also took place with the 1st prize winner, a young girl dressed as a Dark Jedi, taking home an awesome Xbox 360 with all the other contestants winning the exclusive (and elusive) The Force Unleashed Stormtrooper Commander.

This was the first public venue organized by our club in its one and a half year of life and everyone attending made it a point in showing their appreciation for all the work involved and a well spent evening. Truly an amazing experience for everyone, courtesy of Star Wars' first fan club in Portugal.

As part of TFU's promoting, SWCP members were present, on September 16, on the national radio Antena 3 and the SIC Radical's "Curto Circuito" (that's short circuit) TV program, showing the public their enthusiasm for the saga and Lucasfilm's/LucasArts' The Force Unleashed project.
