While we got our first taste of the new update to the Star Wars: Trench Run game back in June during E3, Starwars.com now provides official details...
"Infrared5 has upgraded their thrilling Star Wars: Trench Run game for iPhone and online play, offering would-be Rebel pilots a new way to control the Force and save the galaxy. The new 2.0 edition of the game includes a remote control upgrade powered by Brass Monkey that lets you use your iPhone or iPod Touch as a wireless game controller to play Trench Run full-screen on your computer here at StarWars.com.
Star Wars: Trench Run recreates moments from the Battle of Yavin, the climactic space battle from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope where Rebel starfighters attempt to destroy the Death Star. In Trench Run, you can dogfight against TIE fighters in space, or dive into the Death Star trench and evade incoming fire, obstacles and even Lord Darth Vader.
This upgrade to Trench Run includes new levels: Operate the Millennium Falcon's gun turrets to ward off Imperial TIE fighters during the original escape from the Death Star. You can also use the Falcon's guns to protect a Y-wing fighter squadron undertaking a bombing run.
The StarWars.com edition has also been upgraded with new explosions, updated graphics, 3-D cockpits, and lighting effects.
To get started with the iPhone / iPod Touch edition, get it today from the iTunes store. To play online here at StarWars.com, follow this link here."
