"As expected, the sound effects are straight out of the Lucasfilm archive and perfectly match the films to the game. There's been a few new additions to the title as well though, including Dark Jedi taunts and some new sound effects."
"Some missions can last over an hour while others take five minutes, so you never quite know what to expect. Jedi Academy has an overall linear path, but you can mix this up to a certain degree."
"So I should just cut and paste my Jedi Outcast review and replace all the "greats" with "phenomenals," right? Well, not quite. While the title does many things better than Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy nevertheless comes with a few minor problems that bring entirely new frustrations."
"But before you're thrown into the thick of things you get the chance to determine Jaden's appearance by means of a basic character-design system. Select a gender, then pick from a number of mix 'n' match races, faces, torsos and legs, then hop off to the saber selection screen to choose the colour of your blade and style of your hilt. "
"You?ll be using lots of Force Push/Pull in exploratory situations and perhaps, if incorporated into your dueling styles, during melee combat. I?ve personally found that Force Lightning, though it is aesthetically pleasing, does fairly little to the Dark Jedis? who are superior in training. You will find that Force Heal can become very handy in later levels."
