The good people at Variety heard of the newly announced Star Wars animated series and offer up an article providing some more details not noted in the official press release. While you can click here to read the full article, see below for some cliff notes:
- An "animated Star Wars sitcom"
- Not a sketch comedy
- Matt Seinriech described the series to Variety as a character driven story comedy that may include crossover appearances from Star Wars movie characters
- No crossovers from The Clone Wars characters are planned at this point
- Show will be no more than a half hour long
- While Brendan Hay (from The Daily Show) has been tapped as the head writer, Lucasfilm looks to eventually hire up to 10 more writers
- Animation will be done overseas, but not sure where yet and possibly not in Singapore
- And for the doubters, Seth Green proclaims: "Let us assure you this isn't going to suck as much as you think it is."
