TCW Stars, SW Celebrities Weigh In On Series Cancelation
Posted By Eric on March 11, 2013
In the wake of the announcement that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will not get a sixth season, a number of people connected to the show weighed in online with their thoughts. We're collecting those responses here, and we'll update this post as needed.
James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
Check out James' full message here. This is only an excerpt of his heartwarming farewell message:
Thousands of lines of dialogue recorded, over a hundred episodes and yet it still seems like we have said too little and that there's so much more to add. And from what we can tell there will be more to come. Clone Wars will have a future, although we're not entirely sure where or when, there are still stories to tell in what I consider the best animated program television has seen thus far. I only wish the show had been more recognized within our industry with awards to the writers, artists, and of course our greatest proponent and visionary for it, Dave Filoni. Dave's love of Star Wars and story telling far surpassed what any of us as a cast could have imagined and it is because of his ability to craft and create along side, the master creator Mr. George Lucas himself, that we all can stand eight years later with so much new history and legend to add to the Star Wars universe. So with that I say my greatest thanks would be to Master Dave Filoni and his crew, for allowing me to not only take part in history but to be a part of something each and every one of us longs for... Family. I am not only a part of the Star Wars family now, I am a part of The Clone Wars family, and that, in my humble opinion, has had the greatest impact on what Star Wars brings to families all over the world. From here in the states to my new friends in Japan to perhaps even galaxies far, far away. I don't know if I'll ever get to say again in the voice of my favorite Jedi Knight for anything Star Wars related but I say it to you now and mean it more than I ever have...
"May the Force be with you all... always."
Thank you for letting me be your Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano)
On Facebook:
Star Wars The Clone Wars has changed my life forever and I feel privileged to have spent the past 7 years working for George Lucas, Dave Filoni and the entire cast and crew for Lucasfilm Animation. I am beyond thankful to have had the opportunity to work with a team that challenged the standards of excellence in animation and ultimately raised the bar so high for all other projects to come.
I would also like to thank all of YOU! Being a part of the Star Wars Universe has made me a better person because of the opportunities shared and time spent with fans around the world. Thank you for everything you've given me.
Always in motion is the future and the future looks very bright if you are a Star Wars fan. There are so many new stories that are going to be told and a new chapter in the Star Wars Universe is about to begin. Trust me, you're not getting rid of me, I'll still be here loving Star Wars with all of you and talking about it on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what's ahead, but I will be forever grateful to have been the voice of Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars The Clone Wars for 5 seasons. Thank you for going on this journey with me. Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker)
Catherine Taber (Padme Amidala)
Dee Bradley Baker (clone troopers)
Daniel Logan (Boba Fett)
With the announcement today of the winding down of Star Wars: The Clone Wars I just wanted to say a few things. I am very proud, honoured & thankful to have been a part of The Clone Wars over the years. I want to thank George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Cary Silver, Meagan Finnerty, Tracy Cannobbio, all the cast & crew and especially the fans for making this so fun & fulfilling to be a part of. Star Wars has been a huge part of my life since I was 13 & I am thankful for all it has given me. I am sure my journey with Star Wars has many more adventures & I look forward to all that is in store for the future. There are still a few epic story arcs of The Clone Wars that will be available this year. It is some of the best work Lucasfilm Animation has produced, so stay tuned. MTFBW! The future of THE CLONE WARS and other news from Lucasfilm Animation: I'm sure many of you have already seen the posting and video clip from Dave Filoni. If not, I suggest you go there now. Clearly there's a lots more information to come to answer all of our questions, but in the meantime a BIG THANK YOU to Dave Filoni, Cary Silver and the amazing team that have given us six incredible seasons of one of the best shows on television!
