Star Wars producer Rick McCallum discussed the current status of the live-action TV series in an IGN video interview. While he didn't reveal anything new, he did backtrack on a previous comment about the series' working title. This is what he said in a January interview with IGN's Scott Collura:
McCallum: It's about that period when, you know, the Empire is really trying to take things -- it's called "Underworld" -- so, it's the world -- Interviewer: It's called "Underworld"? McCallum: Well, it's -- that's a working title.
Now McCallum says that "Underworld" is not, in fact, the series' working title. But rest assured, the series will still be "a fascinating look on all the characters that exist between Episode III and Episode IV."
In other news, McCallum said that there were no plans to create an all-Star Wars theme park; that director Joe Johnston would continue to court George Lucas regarding his Boba Fett movie idea; and that Lucas himself would decide in the next year or two what the next phase of his career will look like.
Were you hoping that McCallum would address some recent Star Wars Internet news? Well, when asked about Lucasfilm's recent registration of Internet domain names relating to "1313," McCallum abruptly stood up and walked away.
