Check out the G4 channel on Friday, May 25th to see their Celebration IV coverage titled: Star Wars at 30. This is according to a number of commercials I have seen and the schedule on their website. Looks to run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. According to the website, the special will also be airing on Sunday the 27th at 8:00 pm, although it's unclear if this is more coverage or a re-broadcast. Click here to visit the website of G4. Check you local listings for the channel. G4's Live Expedition to "Celebration IV" Represents Galaxy's Most Comprehensive Coverage of Largest "Star Wars" Party in History
LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2007 - Three decades ago, in theaters both near and far away, "Star Wars" ignited the imaginations of aspiring Jedis around the world and gave birth to a pop-culture dynasty. As a grand salute to the film franchise that introduced an adoring public to the joys of Wookies, lightsabers and the Force, G4 will premiere "Star Wars at 30," the galaxy's most extensive journey through thirty years of "Star Wars" fandom and mythology. The special, two-hour live event includes interviews with "Star Wars" luminaries and gives G4 viewers unparalleled access to "Celebration IV," the largest "Star Wars" party and convention in history. G4's "Star Wars at 30" premieres May 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, only on G4.
"Star Wars at 30" promises comprehensive, on-the-scene coverage from "Celebration IV," a five-day extravaganza in Los Angeles that honors the "Star Wars" saga and its influence on three decades of sci-fi fans. G4's cameras will scour the show floor to give viewers a VIP-worthy tour of the festivities, with coverage of the celebrities, costumes, film props, presentations, events and live entertainment that make "Celebration IV" a truly historic event. In addition to showcasing the fascinating sights and sounds of "Celebration IV," "Star Wars at 30" features conversations with some the brightest stars from within the "Star Wars" galaxy.
"No other network is better suited to cover this live event than G4 - 'Star Wars' is in our DNA," said Neal Tiles, President, G4. "By delivering the most complete 'Star Wars' coverage possible, we're giving the G4 audience a chance to become more than just fans - they get to be part of the 30th anniversary celebration. From live coverage at 'Celebration IV' to E3 Video Game Expo to Comic-Con and CES, G4 is committed to taking guys inside the events they care about most."
Nearly thirty years after the first film premiered, "Star Wars" powerful, Force-like influence can still be seen everywhere from the cineplex to the Web. G4 will take a look at some notable, present-day examples of how "Star Wars" continues to inspire, with "Star Wars" news, analysis and tips for finding the most interesting, fun and informative Web sites dedicated to the "Star Wars" universe.
Some of "Star Wars" more adventuresome fans aren't content to merely watch the films - elaborate costumes let them live out their fantasies. G4 will feature these fans and their amazing costumes that allow them to experience life as a Storm Trooper, Jedi or any of "Star Wars" other distinctive characters. G4's hosts will even join in the cosplay action, with Olivia Munn donning Princess Leia's slave-girl outfit made famous in "Return of the Jedi."
