As we do a little catching up this weekend, we have a couple of TCW-related interviews to pass along. The first of which comes from Yahoo News where Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker) discusses the recording process along with what we can expect in the new season. Excerpt below:
"What sets this new season of "The Clone Wars" apart from the others?"
"We say this every year because it's true every year. It just becomes more incredible. This past episode was such a huge undertaking. We not only added many characters, but we set it underwater. That was a huge feat. People probably don't think about how difficult it is to make computer-animated models look like they're underwater. I was blown away when I saw that. You can set it underwater and add a few bubbles here and there, but can you make it feel like they're underwater? We did, and that was incredible to me. The season is actually called "Battle Lines," which is indicative of what's to come. There's more character development. We have some new characters coming in. There are characters that we possibly know already from the films. These characters are wearing down from the war. Their thoughts, opinions, and ideas of the war and good versus evil are changing. I think that's all very interesting."
The second interview is provided by TIME for Kids and features Matt Lanter (Anakin), Clancy Brown (Savage Opress), and T.C. Carson (Mace Windu). We've embedded the video below but make sure to also click here for the accompanying short write up.
In more TCW voice actor-related news, John A. sent over the following e-mail regarding Adrienne Wilkinson:
"Am sharing this since our lead actress, Adrienne Wilkinson, has ties to the STAR WARS Universe...she has portrayed 'The Daughter' on THE CLONE WARS, and 'Maris Brood' in several Star Wars games.
My name's John Alsedek, and I produce a horror anthology radio series called AS DARKNESS FALLS... It's an audio drama done in the style of classic old shows like 'Inner Sanctum' and 'CBS Radio Mystery Theater'.
Our host is veteran character actor Tucker Smallwood, best known for his roles on shows like 'Star Trek: Enterprise' and 'The Sarah Silverman Show' (he played 'Black God'). And our cast includes some pretty darn good actors, such as Adrienne Wilkinson ('Xena'), Daamen Krall ('The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari'), and Elizabeth Gracen ('Highlander'). Most of the episodes are set between 1930-1960...they range from tongue-in-cheek to downright Lovecraftian in tone.
AS DARKNESS FALLS... premieres in just a few weeks...if you're interested, there are clips from the first four episodes posted online on our YouTube station (www.youtube.com/BlueHoursProductions). The show is distributed by Speaking Volumes (www.speakingvolumes.us)...it'll be released as MP3 downloads before Halloween, as audiobooks in time for Xmas, and as part of a radio syndication package."
