Friend of TFN, Clive Young, was nice enough to send in the following:
"I'm currently writing a book about the history of fan films, due to come out next July from Continuum Books--"Homemade Hollywood: Fans Behind The Camera" (you can read all about it at my website, cliveyoung.com). As you might imagine, the book is pretty SW-heavy; in the process of interviewing Kevin Rubio a few months ago about his classic "Troops," it came up that he's one of the writers on the new animated series. That was the entirety of what I got out of him about it--no word as to whether he's bringing his unique comic viewpoint to the series or writing dramatic material--but it's pretty cool news nonetheless. Given his career, between "Troops" and his background at Fox Kids and working on various cartoon shows, he must have been a perfect match for the series."
One of our other reliable sources, whose name rhymes with "Clay Meppard", also noted that writer/director from the Batman/Superman/Justice League animated shows ,Bruce Timm, is also onboard.
Thanks to Clive and Jay!
UPDATE: Henry Gilroy, story editor for season 1 of Lucasfilm's Clone Wars was nice enough to send us the following update:
"Just wanted to let you know that Bruce Timm is not working on the Clone Wars series -- has no involvement in it whatsoever. However, we did hire animation writer Paul Dini to write a coupla episodes."
Big thanks to Henry for helping us keep our facts striaght!
