Taozin

this huge, segmented worm was notable because of its ability to hide from the Force. Its long body was protected by segmented, overlapping plates, dotted with nodules which were several centimeters across. A collection of small arms studded its front sections, while a series of thick legs ran along the sides of its body. The head of the taozin was armed with a pair of meter-long mandibles. Behind each side of the taozin's mouth was speciallized gland which produced a sticky, viscous fluid that solidified on contact with air. The taozin used this to build its tunnels, as well as to caoture prey. Visually, the taozin's entire body was transparent, including its plated skin and internal organs. The internal structure of the taozin's body allowed it to break up light, including the light created by a lightsaber. This made the taozin almost impervious to a lightsaber attack. They were believed to have been extinct, a belief which was due in part to the fact that the creature did not radiate any presence within the Force. It was discovered by the droid I-5YQ that the skin nodules of a taozin could be severed from the body, and yet still were invisible to the Force, as Lorn Pavan used one nodule to sneak up on Darth Maul. Further investigation revealed that the taozin was native to the moon Va'art.
