John J. Guth, the President & Managing Director of the Seattle Star Wars Society, sent us the following report and pictures on Saturday's big premiere.
The Wizards of the Coast RPG Release event was a big hit! Several hundred people showed up to see, play and experience the new Star Wars Role Playing game produced by Wizards of the Coast.
Both Jake Lloyd and Peter Mayhew were there along with artistic friends Drew Struzan and Adam Hughes. Fans waited in line for hours to meet and get their autographs. Because the guests were there to promote the RPG they were not signing any memorabilia other than RPG posters, but no problem, just to finally meet them in person was a great honor.
I chatted with Peter Mayhew for about 25 minutes and boy can that man talk and tell stories. We chatted about everything from Lucas' private Vineyards to bad and wicked convention promoters. He was even wearing an all pewter Chewbacca ring on his pinky that was too big for my thumb. We look forward to having Peter and Jake back in Seattle hopefully soon.
The Seattle Star Wars Society is very proud to have been asked to help get the fans all rallied together to be there at the event. Actually, the event was almost like a High School reunion, just about everyone there was a SSWS member and many came in costume :-)
Though many many folks worked very hard to make this event happen, I would especially like to thanks Lisa Stevens and Chris Erb for all their hard work and putting this on for us, the FANS!
