Though we know everyone's mind is currently on SDCC, the ForceCast's Jimmy Mac offers up an alternative for those convention fans not able to hit the west coast:
"Wizard World Chicago is only 2 weeks away. It all takes place at The Donald E Stephens Convention Center by Chicago's O'Hare Airport Aug 6-9. This is a nice alternative for midwesterners who could not attend SDCC. There will be several Star Wars panels.
SATURDAY 8/7 - Wil Eisner Room 2p-3p - Ray Park Q&A - Jack Kirby Room 3p-4p - Billy Dee Williams Q&A - Jack Kirby Room 4p-5p - Star Wars Panel
PLUS, there will be plenty of autograph opportunities with a dozen Star Wars actors in attendance:
Ray Park, Billy Dee Williams, Orli Shoshan, Daniel Logan, Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, Maria de Aragon, Dave Barclay, Tom Kane, Jerome Blake, Richard LeParmentier, and Doug Wangler
AND, Steve Sansweet will be a Special Guest and Tom Hodges will be taking his usual spot in the Artist Alley
Steve Sansweet will be doing a Star Wars presentation (it could be the Sat 4pm panel) - I will confirm when soon!
They are apparently transitioning the name of the event from Wizard World Chicago (which is what they always called it) to Chicago Comic Con."
Thanks to Jimmy for the heads up! Click here for more details at the convention's site.
UPDATE: Though it may not be listed on the Wizard World site yet , Steve Sansweet has confirmed to Jimmy Mac that he will be presenting the Star Wars panel on Saturday, August 7th at 4:00pm. Yet another reason to attend!
Thanks again to Jimmy!
UPDATE #2: Nothing new to report on the convention - just that Starwars.com has posted their official update concerning the Star Wars Presentation.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
