Star Wars fans will begin a vigil celebrating the release of the final Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith, at the Uptown Theatre at 3426 Connecticut Ave, NW in Washington, DC on Friday, May 6th at approximately 7 PM. Star Wars fans will camp out in front of the Uptown Theatre from May 6th through the premiere of the film on May 19th in order to benefit charity and to continue the tradition of camping at the Uptown that began with the premiere of Star Wars Episode I in 1999. The fans have met with representatives of the Uptown Theatre staff and the local Cleveland Park community in order to continue the good relationships and cooperative spirit that was exhibited in past premiere lines.
Volunteers in the line will run a fundraiser for Children's Hospital Foundation , providing collection canisters for donations. The volunteers in the line will also staff a food collection drive to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.
The line is being organized by Adrienne Maul-Sari of Joppatowne, MD, Victor Nazarian of Rockville, MD, Lori Frye of Annandale, VA, Dan McDonald of Springfield, VA and Vance Rego of Gaithersburg, MD, with the support of the Uptown Theatre staff.

I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated.
