We received an email from Paul Bateman recently in regards to an iconic piece of artwork for Star Wars : A New Hope. Read more about the history of this piece from Paul's email below, then click on the thumb for a larger view.
"You might not be aware that Ralph originally painted a very different version of his droids on Tatooine image. C3P0 was initially much more organic in appearance, complete with six pack and more human facial features (plus he had fewer panel lines etc).
As Ralph painted over the original image, the only version of that exists (that we've seen) is a transparency that was shot at the time. Portions of the image were missing and due to the degradation of the film and the initial lighting conditions the colours are now a long way from the original art.
As it was one of Ralph's very first Star Wars paintings I couldn't settle for what we had, I've attached a little comparison jpeg, so you can see what I was able to pull off."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
