The Force Unleashed Novelization Coming

Posted By Mike on February 17, 2007

Amidst all the big info we've been getting on LucasArts' big new next-gen game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, there have been a couple brief passages saying that the story featured in the game isn't just for the sake of the game; TFU will be a cross-platform marketing campaign not seen since Shadows of the Empire back in the late '90s. While mention has specifically been made of book and comic tie-ins, though, no real info has officially been given on either so far.

Luckily, Jedi Council Forum veteran wild_karrde has a keen eye - check out this page on Randomhouse.com. I'll be the first to admit that these early order pages often contain mistakes, and are occasionally completely erroneous, but given all the circumstantial evidence, it looks like it's safe to say that a Shadows-style novelization is indeed on its way this fall, written (according to the page in question) by Australian author Sean Williams, one-half of the writing team that brought us the New Jedi Order's Force Heretic trilogy. I was a big fan of those books, in particular their handling of the larger EU picture, so I'd say this novelization is in good hands. Here's hoping for more solid info soon.
