The Clone Wars On Canadian TV

Posted By Mike on September 24, 2008

The animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (not to be confused with it's big screen companion) has found a home on Canadian TV. According to TheStar.com, the series will be airing this fall on CTV on Sunday nights.

Click here for the source article.

Big thanks to Gajo for the heads up!

UPDATE: Friend of TFN, Bryan P., wrote to let us know that the CTV website now has a page dedicated to The Clone Wars series. See it right here! What I found interesting was that they also display a short cast list. (Did they list Mathew Wood correctly? Shouldn't he be referenced from Ep. III? Am I just being too nitpicky? Most likely:)

Matt Lanter as the voice of Anakin;
Ashley Eckstein as the voice of Ahsoka;
Tom Kane (Kim Possible) as the voice of Yoda;
James Arnold Taylor as the voice of Obi-Wan;
Anthony Daniels (Star Wars) as the voice of C3PO;
Matthew Wood (Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace) as the voice of General Grievous.

Thanks Bryan!

UPDATE #2: Friend of TFN, Alex S., sent over the following regarding The Clone Wars on Canadian TV:

"Just wanted to drop off a message stating that the Clone Wars animated series will be premiering October 10th at 4pm PST on the Canadian Space Channel.

Here's the link to the website (http://www.spacecast.com/default.aspx) and the Clone Wars subsection on the Shows section (http://www.spacecast.com/shows_5549.aspx). Still no information as to when it will premiere on CTV."

Thanks Alex!

UPDATE #3: Canada.com has listed the fall schedule for CTV which includes The Clone Wars. See the relevant info below...

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars, an animated series of weekly 30-minute "mini- movies'' based on the summer animation film and featuring the additional adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padme Amidala. Airs Sundays at 7 p.m. Originates from the U.S. cable channel Cartoon Network."

Sunday:
7 p.m. - Star Wars: The Clone Wars
8 p.m. - The Amazing Race
9 p.m. - Desperate Housewives
10 p.m. - The Listener

We're assuming that since an hour is blocked off, after the 2 episode premier new episodes will follow repeat airings.

Thanks to Craig for the info!

UPDATE #4: To tie together the intial post and the updates above...The first 2 episodes of The Clone Wars in Canada will premiere on Sunday night October 5th at 7pm on CTV. Subsequent weeks will have a repeat airing at 7pm and new episodes at 7:30. Encore airings of TCW will be on SPACE on Friday evenings and it looks like Saturdays as well.

Thanks to Darth ? for the help!
