Friend of TFN and the Force-Cast, Mitchell H. sent us the following:
"We all love the web site, podcast and all things Star Wars - Lucasfilm and especially - Indiana Jones!
Since my son Owen, 7, wanted to be Indiana Jones this Halloween -- we decided to take full advantage of the costume. Together with his older brother, Spencer, 9, and our loyal family dog, Indiana, set out to make our own version of little Indy! I think this is their way for making up for us not getting picked for "Indiana Jones IV" extras when it was filming in nearby New Haven this past spring. (though they did see Harrison Ford, Shia Lebeof and Steven Spielberg at work and got a wave from them).
The boys had a great time and I took direction from them both - from the terrifying runaway wagon scene to the battle with the gorilla and finally exploring the liar of the evil Dr. Zombie! We even manage to throw in a few nods to classic "Indy" scenes, a collectible in the background - and even a snake! Owen was Indy, our dog played his sidekick, Henry -- and my son Spencer was able to play two roles; Dr. Zombie and the evil gorilla (he has been bitten by the acting bug after being an extra in the TV movie "For One More Day" which was filmed nearby this past summer). They ran through the woods of Trumbull, Connecticut on a beautiful fall day, got filthy, ran, jumped and basically acted like kids! We took tons of pictures and then laid them out on the PC and added captions like a comic book.
Mind you the concepts and story come mainly from the minds of children and has a few typos. However, it is entertaining for fans of all ages who love action and excitement -- maybe they will be future Lucas and Spielberg, as Owen now wants to be an actor/movie-maker when he grows up!
And until the world premiere of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" - this will have to suffice. Which Owen wants to know where he can get a ticket -- that might be as tricky as finding the real Lost Ark!
Next up for the boys is a version of Star Wars, because I am dying to be in it and wear my Stormtrooper helmet!
I just wanted to pass it on to other film fans to check it out! The jpgs are attached or you can see it on my myspace page : http://www.myspace.com/mitchellhallock "
Thanks Mitchell! See below and click on the pics to check out the comic.
