Eurogamer.com reports that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be the biggest project ever undertaken by EA. I think a lot of fans kind of assumed this but EA's chief banker Eric Brown confirms the assertion by calling the future MMO the "largest ever development project, period, in the history of the company." Read a bit more at the source article here and catch up on the latest TOR news through the related links below. Otherwise, keep those fingers crossed for the projected spring 2011 release.
UPDATE: Going along with the whole "this a huge project for EA" theme, IndustryGamers.com reports that over 1 million subscriptions will be needed for the project to break even...
"Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia recently came away from a meeting with EA and reported that although "earnings are somewhat depressed due to ongoing expenses of the Star Wars MMO, management has high hopes for this and believes 2M+ subs is possible." He added that a little over 1 million subscribers is needed to reach the break-even point, but the ultimate goal is to get several million subscribers."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
