The Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS) in association with Toy Cave and Essential Comics & Games is holding its annual Star Wars Toy Drive to benefit the Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion of Star Wars Stormtroopers. Garrison Carida encompasses much of the mid-Atlantic region, including Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia. They are a truly service-oriented chapter of the 501st, dedicating the majority of their efforts to helping sick children. They visit children's hospitals throughout the year where they pose for photos with the patients and hand out Star Wars toys. The toys collected through this drive will be given to hospitalized children during these visits.
PSWCS will accept donations until December 16th, 2006. This year we are holding multiple live collection events. On December 9th PSWCS will collect toys at the Toy Cave in Carlisle, PA. PSWCS will wrap up the toy drive with a collection event at Essential Comics & Games in Exeter, PA on December 16th. We're expecting many fully-armored Stormtroopers (and other Star Wars characters) from Garrison Carida to be on-hand for these events; everyone is welcome to bring their camera.
Anyone wishing to contribute to this toy drive, can mail donations to the contact address or attend one of the official collection events mentioned above. We can accept Star Wars action figures, vehicles, games, and gift cards from stores that sell toys, money can not be accepted. Please note, Garrison Carida does not hand out role-playing toys or weapons.
We hope you will join PSWCS in supporting this fine organization and their efforts to brighten the days of children who need it most. Help bring a smile to a sick or needy child this holiday season. Its amazing what even a few small toys can do to the spirit of a child stuck in the hospital. So if you can, please donate.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
