News just broke tonight about the long-awaited 3D release of the Star Wars movies. The USA Today reports that Lucasfilm is getting ready to bring this project to life:
"Lucasfilm has decided to reprocess the series into that format and release the films in theaters again, starting in 2012 with the 1999 prequel The Phantom Menace. It's only one-sixth of the news that Star Wars fans have been waiting to hear, but it's the first step toward converting the other prequels and original trilogy."
ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll is overseeing the project, and Lucasfilm is quick to point out that the 2012 mark for TPM is approximate. No timeline has been set for the 3D release of the other five movies.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
