We're pleased to present the ninth episode of Star Wars is Everywhere. Remember, if you see something that fits the bill for a future episode, please be sure to let us know!
Let's kick things off with a reader submission from our friend Al of Wallasey UK:
"Here in the UK we regularly have ads run for a cider called Strongbow. Latest ad is based around the medal ceremony at the end of A New Hope. Three tradesmen walk down a long aisle of a large hall flanked by hundreds of other tradesmen (cable guys, engineers etc etc). They climb the stairs and receive their reward for a hard day working from a Leia look-a-like - a pint of Strongbow each whilst their peers applaud them."
You can check out the add by clicking here. (Thanks Al!)
Tesla coils, the Imperial March, and ArcAttack combined for an interesting performance on America's Got Talent. Visit HULU for a clip of the segment. (Thanks to "Adthrawn" for the link!)
Leonard Nimoy says Trekkies who resent the "Star Wars" movies need to get over it. And he admits to a longtime competitive rivalry with longtime "Star Trek" co-star William Shatner.
Nimoy, 79, who recently announced his retirement from acting, spoke Friday night in Los Angeles at the Hero Complex Film Festival on many subjects, including:
"Star Wars" creator George Lucas: "George Lucas really did us all a big favor. 'Star Wars' is what put 'Star Trek' back into production."
Click here for the rest of the short article which goes on to talk about the Nimoy/Shatner competetive rivalry. (scroll down a bit)
The Miami New Times Food Blog includes Star Wars-inspired treats in their list of the "Top 15 Geek Food Tributes to Star Wars, Trek, and Bacon."
The fantastic Bonnie Burton at the Official Starwars.com Blog has a couple recent additions that certainly qualify under the Star Wars is Everywhere umbrella. Click here for a bear wielding a lightsaber and then here to learn a bit about an Obi-Wan reference on an episode of the FOX show Lie To Me.
There ain't no party like a mini-Vader party, cause a mini-Vader party don't stop! Visit Movie-Moron.com for the nightclub video from Cannes. (Thanks Sheridan!)
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
