STAR WARS GALAXIES(TM) KICKS OFF BUDDY REFERRAL PROGRAM THIS DECEMBER

Galactic Settlement Initiative Rewards Players with Collectible In-Game Items When they Bring Friends into the Online Star Wars Experience

LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment today announced the launch of a Buddy Referral Program for Star Wars Galaxies that offers current players rewards for bringing friends into the game.

The Empire is looking for new citizens to join the galaxy and is offering collectible in-game items to current players who recruit new settlers. Starting today, players can earn up to four collectible in-game items for referring buddies into Star Wars Galaxies. Every new player subscription account created between December 20, 2007 and February 15, 2008 as part of this promotion can claim a "thank you” Buddy Token which will be placed in the inventory of the character they choose. This Buddy Token can be given in-game to the veteran player who referred them, where it will then turn into a reward.

The first three Buddy Tokens that a player may receive for referring buddies will, when redeemed by the same in-game character, turn into a series of in-game paintings based on poster art for the Star Wars movies, Episodes I, II, and III. The fourth Buddy Token that a player may receive, when redeemed by the same in-game character, will turn into a Light-Bending BARC Speeder, an incredibly rare item, new to Star Wars Galaxies.
