Today, the Sun Chronicle posted an interview with Ryder Windham, the prolific Star Wars author whose work includes Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force and the upcoming Star Wars: The Complete Vader. In the piece, Windham discussed his early Star Wars fandom, his appreciation for the work of The 501st Legion, and his writing style.
Here's a snippet to get you interested:
"I'm a huge fan of the 501st Legion. They are just the best goodwill ambassadors. They just want to make kids smile," Windham said in an interview Monday.
A Providence resident most of his life and now an instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design, Windham got into Star Wars by accident. After he graduated from the University of Southeastern Massachusetts, he went to work for Dark Horse comics, not because they were working on Indiana Jones or Star Wars comics, but simply because they offered him a job.
He first did comic book adaptations of the Young Indiana Jones, and a little bit later he was approached to work on Star Wars comic book adaptations. Eventually those comics turned into young adult novels.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
