Our friend Eddie of Starwarstimeline.com was doing some more searching on Amazon and came up with yet another new Star Wars listing geared towards the younger readers. Star Wars: A Scanimation Book by Rufus Butler Seder is listed for a May 2010 release with the following specs and description:
Hardcover Publisher: Workman Publishing Company (May 1, 2010) Language: English ISBN-10: 0761158464 ISBN-13: 978-0761158462
"Imagine a book whose pages literally recreate your favourite scenes from your favourite movies - in full motion. Sounds like something out of a "Star Wars" movie, right? How perfect, then, that Rufus Butler Seder chose "Star Wars" as the subject of his next book, which brings to life ten of the most iconic and memorable scenes from all six classic movies. Darth Vader's final lightsaber duel with Obi Wan Kenobi, R2D2 and C3PO making their way across the sands of Tatooine; Luke's targeted descent into the trenches of the Death Star; Princess Leia giving R2D2 the stolen plans; General Grievous with his four lightsabers spinning; Yoda and Emperor Palpatine locked in an epic Sith Lightning duel; the Millennium Falcon zooming out of eating range of the giant asteroid slug; Anakin and Padme's tender love scene at the entrance of the Geonosian Battle Arena; Boba Fett gliding on his jetpack; and, Darth Maul's thrilling double-bladed light saber battle against Qui Gon Jinn are all brought to life by the magic of Scanimation."
If you'd like a better idea of just what "scanimation" is all about, then click here for a video of Rufus Butler Seder explaining the concept and it's inception in regards to another of his children's books. Standard disclaimer about items listed on Amazon being subject to change until we get an official...yadda, yadda, yadda...
As always, thanks to Eddie!
UPDATE: Amazon has added an image to the pre-order page. Check it out right here. Thanks again Eddie!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
