Star Wars 101

Sociology professor John Tenuto will be teaching a class entitled "Introduction to Sociology: Star Wars Edition" (SOC 121-014) at the College of Lake County, Grayslake, Illinois starting this August, Thursdays, from 12:30 to 3:15 PM. Registration for the class begins the week of April 16th. The class will discuss sociological theory, Star Wars fan subcultures, the sociological effects of Star Wars, social archetypes of Star Wars, and social issues of gender, religion, education, media. The class will also visit the Museum of Science and Industry's "Where Imagination Meets Science" Star Wars exhibit. The November John Williams CSO concert is an elective event for students. Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch

Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated.
