Just a few quick updates that we wanted to pass along to our loyal viewers that highlight Star Wars making its presence in the world of entertainment.
The first story is from STV.tv reporting that Celebrity Big Brother winner and professed "Star Wars freak" Alex Reid has a strong desire to don a Star Wars costume (specifically, a Darth Vader suit) for his upcoming wedding to Katie Price.
"The 34-year-old told a Sunday newspaper that he believes that Katie would make an excellent Princess Leia.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I drove past a Star Wars fancy dress store and thought it would be a really fun theme for the wedding.
"It would be a giggle."
"Katie and me could go as Princess Leia and Darth Vader - I'm up for that idea."
Check out the full article right here. Sounds like a great idea to me - make it happen Alex.
The second update concerns the actor who voices the lead character named Hiccup from the current DreamWorks 3D animated film "How To Train Your Dragon". Star Wars fans who have watched the trailer or seen the movie might recognize his voice - it is Jay Baruchel, who played the character "Windows" in the #1 Star Wars fan film of all time, Fanboys!
Hopefully these two updates brought a small ray of sunshine to the start of your work week!
UPDATE: The Official Starwars.com Blog points out a couple Star Wars in entertainment-type references...
First, Nathan Fillion of Castle went on Jimmy Kimmel Live and discussed wielding lightsabers with a friend following a party.
Next up, and for fans of LOST, Bonnie Burton stumbled on a fun comic that mashes Star Wars with that airplane crash show that's ending in a few weeks.
I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to catch up on my television watching through HULU these days. Being a few weeks behind on Family Guy, I was watching episode 14 of the current season ("Peter-Assment") and thought I heard a familiar voice. It wasn't until near the end of the episode that I realized it was Carrie Fisher playing the voice of Peter's sexual harrassing boss, Angela. Good stuff!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
