LeiasMetalBikini.com presents: Slave Leia Group Photo at Comic-Con International!
June 9, 2008 -- To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 1983, Comic-Con International: San Diego will be the site of a massive group photo of Slave Leia costumed fans!
Sitting in the center of all these beautiful, metal bikini-clad ladies will be a life-size Jabba the Hutt, built by the acclaimed statue and sculpture company, Gentle Giant Studios. The event will be at 1pm, Friday, July 25th at the Gentle Giant booth inside the Exhibit Hall.
The photo is one of a series taken at various conventions, starting in 2005. The first photo of 2007, taken at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles, was an overwhelming success, with media, fans, and photo-seekers clogging the aisles at the Los Angeles convention center. Over 30 women participated in the photo, including television personalities from programs seen on Spike TV, G4, and Ripe TV.
With over 114,000 fans attending Comic-Con International last year, LeiasMetalBikini.com is expecting even more lovely ladies to participate this time around!
LeiasMetalBikini.com originated in 2002 with just a handful of young ladies wearing the sexy slave wear to conventions and parties. Over the course of 6 years, the website has become a phenomenon, with over 300 costumers from around the world sending in their photos.
?I try to bring as many female fans together as possible.? Says Website designer and organizer Jamin Fite. ?Whatever it takes! If I have to make someone a bikini myself, I will.?
The Slave Leia bikini was made famous in the 1983 Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi. Maxim Magazine voted the Slave Leia bikini as the number one hottest nerd crush, and the E! Entertainment channel recently listed it as the 16th most memorable ?swimsuit? moment.
UPDATE: Jamin of leiasmetalbikini.com sent over the following cool update for the Comic Con Slave Leia Group Photo:
"Our San Diego Comic Con Slave Lady group photo has attracted the interest of G4 TV's "Attack of the Show", and they asked if they could cover the whole event. Not only that, but co-host Olivia Munn will be joining us, doing interviews and having a "Most Talented Slave Lady" competition. So things are shaping up for a truly awesome and memorable event!"
The new time for the photo is 11am on Friday, July 25 at the life-size Jabba display at the Gentle Giant booth.
Thanks to Jamin for the update and congrats to him for the additional exposure. (pun intended:)

I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
