Promotion for Daniel Wallace's unique book The Jedi Path continues as the main site brings us an interview with the author, conducted by Pete Vilmur. While you can check out the intro below, make sure to click here for the full read. Also (in case you missed it) TFN's Mandy B chatted with Daniel Wallace a little while back and you can read that interview here.
"The Jedi Path, a new book outlining the rules, philosophies, and the how-to of knighthood for Jedi-in-training, registered a giant spike with fans a few months ago when a video showcasing the tome's auto-opening-servo-sounding-self-illuminating metal case was unveiled to the giddy delight of Star Wars bibliophiles and, well, pretty much anyone who appreciates a really good book cover.
But just what is The Jedi Path, exactly? In short, it's a guide for Jedi-in-training, "authored" by some of the greatest Jedi of the ages, and subsequently "owned" by some of the most well-known to Star Wars fans: Yoda, Thame Cerulian, Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Sidious, and Luke Skywalker (read more about The Jedi Path in our original announcement here).
Written a thousand years before the events of A New Hope, The Jedi Path is presented to readers as the last known copy of this fabled tome in existence, preserving not only the knowledge and wisdom of the mysterious Jedi Order, but the thoughts and speculations of all the Jedi to have owned it -- yup, you'll read Yoda's probing insights on lightsaber preference as well as Anakin's petulant gripes about Padawan training, scrawled in the pages' margins. Oh, and there are a few mementos left behind by these Jedi as well -- Qui-Gon's Padawan braid, Anakin's Jedi starfighter patch, a Jedi Credit medallion, and more.
We asked The Jedi Path's actual author, Daniel Wallace -- who's discreetly acknowledged in the final page's fine print to preserve the book's "in-universe" spirit -- a few questions about his journey down the, well, Jedi path, and if there are similar projects for him on the horizon:"
