Weekend #2 of the 2012 Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios has wrapped and we have an insane amount of photos to share with you. Enjoy 236 images of merchandise from Darth's Mall, the Star Wars Celebrity Motorcade, the new Carbon Freeze Me chamber and more!
Here's a look at the program handed out for each weekend during the month of Star Wars Weekends. You'll notice that Jerome Blake is actually listed as appearing in the Stars of the Saga show with Ray Park hosted by James Arnold Taylor, but this is an obvious typo as Jerome was originally scheduled for Weekend #1 and then had to cancel his appearance.
Out of the five signing guests this weekend, Ray Park had the largest line.
Disney changed up the opening Stormtrooper show this year with some new banter and music.
My first stop was Darth's Mall. This is a huge air conditioned tent set up with all the exclusive merchandise available during Star Wars Weekends as well as previews of upcoming product. This is always a busy and popular stop.
Another new option available for the first time this year is the personalized Star Tours name tag. You can choose from one of the twelve destinations available in the ride and have your own name printed in Aurebesh. As you can see, I chose Tatooine and Hoth as my locations.
Pins are also some of the more popular and sought after items for collectors. In addition to the pins available to all attendees, Disney also offers exclusive pins available only to Pass Holders and Vacation Club Members. (pictured above)
ACME Archives Limited has a beautiful art gallery set up inside Darth's Mall for fans to browse. Additionally, artists make appearances in the Mall to sign art and chat with fans throughout the weekend.
One of the many events held at the Star Wars Weekends Event Stage.
Celebrity guests sign autographs and pose for photos with fans during their scheduled sessions.
Here's an R2-D2 lunch pail that comes with goodies for the kids as well as an R2-D2 "Frozen Concoctions" cup. Both are available in various spots around the park.
Enjoy this inside look at the new Carbon Freeze Me chamber. I'm scheduled to voluntarily be frozen in carbonite myself in a few weeks, so look for more detailed photos of the chamber itself to follow.
The new chocolate and peanut butter Darth Vader cupcake available in six different locations around the park.
Always a huge hit, the Star Wars Celebrity Motorcade takes place just before 1:00pm each of the three afternoons of the weekend. This weekends parade featured Ray Park, Tom Kane, Andy Secombe, Ashley Eckstein & James Arnold Taylor with members from the 501st Legion & Rebel Legion along with several younglings in training straight from the Jedi Academy. Anyone that's been to Florida during the summer months will know just how hot it gets, so it's a good thing everyone in costume has small a/c units on board to help keep them cool. Oh...wait...
Finally, there are character photo op stations throughout the park. I just happened upon this one while Boba was posing for photos and signing autographs.
It was a great time as always and I hope to see everyone out for Weekend #3 with hosts Ashely Eckstein & James Arnold Taylor along with celebrity guests Jake Lloyd, Silas Carson and Catherine Taber.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
