Our good friend Derek of the Georgia 501st and Rebel Legion sent over the following report from the recent Star Wars Night with the Atlanta Braves.
"As an update to Lucasfilm's Stand Up To Cancer Initiative via Major League Baseball, here is the GA 501st garrison and Rebel Legion mission report for Star Wars Night at the Atlanta Braves: Friday 09/16 The Atlanta Braves and MLB celebrated Star Wars Night at Turner Field in Atlanta to raise awareness and research funding for the Stand Up 2 Cancer initiative. Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers, Lord Vader, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca were just a few of the characters from the GA 501st garrison and Rebel Legion who greeted hundreds of costumed fans. Here is the video of Chewbacca finally receiving his promised kiss after waiting 31 years..."
And here's some nice video of the event from MLB.com:
Derek was also nice enough to send over a variety of pics from Star Wars Night with the Atlanda Braves. Click on the images for full views.
Big thanks to Derek for the report! We encourage other fans to send in reports from the many Stand Up To Cancer Star Wars Nights at Major League Baseball stadiums. We always appreciate the help in displaying the fun to be had at various Star Wars-themed events.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
