Our friend Lukasz sent over a report with images and video of Poland's Star Force 2011 convention featuring Jeremy Bulloch.
"Just wanted to let you know we wrapped up this year's edition of Star Force. Co-organised by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Tourism Organisation, Torun City Hall and Office of the Marshall of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, our non-profit, admission-free Star Wars fan convention gathered thousands of participants - not just fans, but also casual passers-by.
Among the highlights of the event was our colourful Star Wars parade through the streets of Torun Old Town, lightsabre combat presentations, live concerts and discussion panels. Crowds admired the exceptional detail of Star Wars starship models by the Kulesza brothers and queued to take part in Star Wars contests and scavenger hunts. Conducted by fan favourite Staszek Maderek, the Star Force panel on special effects was a huge success, as was the presentation of Mars lander Magma 2.
But it was Jeremy Bulloch, our Star Guest, who indeed stole the show. Cheerful, funny and charismatic, Jeremy talked at length about his career and his experiences on the set of Star Wars, even inviting fans to join him on stage and perform famous scenes from The Empire Strikes Back. He also joined the members of the 501st and the Rebel Legion for a Sunday trip to the world-famous Obi-Wan Kenobi Street, where he received many gifts, including a Star Force painting by one of the fans.
Organised annually since 2009, Star Force is largest Star Wars convention in Poland. Each edition is coordinated by local fanclubs and supported by individual fans from all over Poland - collectors, modellers, artists, etc. This amazing spirit of cooperation is what makes our event truly unique, inspiring us to double our efforts every year and create the most complete Star Wars experience we possibly can."
Big thanks to Lukasz for taking the time to send over the report. We're sure Star Force 2012 will continue the successful Star Force tradition!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
