Wayne Dupree is trying to rally the troops in his area and all across the state of Louisiana, read on below-
"The ?Red Stick Rebellion? is a group of collectors based in Baton Rouge, LA but has members all across Louisiana. Originally called ?The Baton Rouge Star Wars Collectors Club?, the group started when the other founder, Tommy Chiasson, and I meet in front of a Wal-Mart while waiting for the ?Revenge of the Sith? promotional tent to open the day of the midnight figure release. I had just come back from Celebration III and with the high turnout of fans in Baton Rouge for the figure release and the movie ? we knew there had to be collectors that were interested in Star Wars collecting. Not being able to find any active groups in the area to join, we decided to start our own group in October 2005. There were many times that the early meetings were just the two of us at a McDonalds trying to figure out how to reach out to find those collectors we knew existed. Eventually, we moved the meetings to the first Saturday of every month and out to the main branch of the Library here in Baton Rouge. We also created business cards that we left on the isles at Wal-Marts, Targets and other stores which got us our first handful of members around the beginning of 2006. After gaining a little momentum, we decided to change the club name to something more catchy ? the ?Red Stick Rebellion?. ?Baton Rouge? is French for ?Red Stick? ? so it harkens back to our original name while not constricting to those only living in Baton Rouge. Once we redesigned our logo, re-did our cards, redesigned the website and even had t-shirts printed. Today, the ?Red Stick Rebellion? continues to grow and currently has about a dozen members from all across Louisiana ? and even one in California. We had five members who were able to make it Celebration IV and we continue to look for anyone who?s interested in Star Wars collection ? especially those in Louisiana. The website, located at http://www.redstickrebellion.com, contains a great deal of information such as Scouting Reports where users can post what they?ve seen a stores in the area so other members can try and fill their collections (plus only members can see posts less than a week old); Previous Meeting information which contains PowerPoint presentations, documents and pictures from previous meetings in case there was something you missed or just wanted to review later; and a Photo Gallery section that shows pictures from all the events that the ?Red Stick Rebellion? have made it to including Celebration IV and the Figure Hunts we go on. Our meetings are the first Saturday of every month and we encourage anyone who has an interest in Star Wars collecting to come by and sign up on the site ? even if you?re not from Louisiana. May the force be with you!"
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
