The Jedi robe worn by Sir Alec Guiness in Star Wars will be up for auction today by British firm Bonhams during a sale of movie and television costumes.
The robe went missing for nearly 30 years during which time it was used in other productions, such as The Mummy. It resurfaced during a stock check in 2005. Afterwards the robe was placed on display in London for a memorabilia exhibition.
The robe is expected to sell for approximately $95,000.
You can view the catalog, which also features wardrobes from Dr. Who and other shows and movies, here (Lot 362).
UPDATE: The BBC is reporting the final bid for the robe was 54,000 British pounds, which translates to approximately $105,000 US.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
