Netflix has reportedly inked a deal with Disney to stream the company's new releases beginning in 2016. Starz currently holds the license for Disney content, which means it would get Star Wars Episode VII -- most likely in the fall of 2015. However, come 2016, Netflix will be the exclusive U.S. subscription service for Disney's new releases. In the meantime, if you are a Netflix subscriber, you will get access to some older direct-to-DVD Disney content, as well as some of the classics, starting in 2013.
Now, since Disney purchased Lucasfilm earlier this year for $4 billion and change, I would LOVE to see ANYTHING Star Wars-related available on Netflix. I take that back, anything but The Holiday Special!
UPDATE:The New York Timesadds that "the deal will include movies from Lucasfilm, which Disney is acquiring."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
