No longer a callow youth, Luke Skywalker has risen through the ranks of the Rebel Alliance to Commander. In these dangerous times, Luke arms himself not only with his father's lightsaber, but also carries a Blas Tech DL-44 blaster. This weapon is favored not only by many Rebels, but the infamous smuggler and scoundrel, Han Solo, as well.
In Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker's Blas Tech DL-44 blaster was a real antique German 7.63mm semi-automatic pistol, unlike Han Solo's which had been made from a modern replica of the same firearm.
The front barrel was passed through a specially machined bright aluminum flash-suppressor which closely followed the look of Han Solo's DL-44 from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. A custom bracket was fitted to the right side of the gun with a single beveled knurled knob, which housed a M19 azimuth sight scope. On the left side of the gun, two plastic model kit parts provided additional surface detailing to complete Luke Skywalker's DL-44 blaster. Luke's weapon differed in many other subtle ways from the weapon carried by his compatriot, Han Solo, therefore was quite distinct in its own right.
The Luke Skywalker Episode V Blaster LE features:
