The New York Post and various other media outlets are reporting that Lucasfilm shut down a Star Wars movie marathon that had ben promoted for the Wicked Monk bar in Brooklyn, New York. The cease and desist from Lucasfilm noted that the marathon infringed on copyrights, the organizers had planned to charge admission, the organizers had not sought permission from Lucasfilm, and apparently there is currently a moratorium on public Star Wars screenings. Star Wars marathon organizer Mike DeVito is angered by not only the C&D itself but the timing of it. The word form Lucasfilm came down just a couple days before the event that had expected over 200 attendees. DeVito says that the promotions did not promote a cover charge and that the the only cost to patrons was in drinks. At the time that the NY Post source article was published, LFL had not responded to requests for comments.

Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
