Lightsabre Interviews Bryan Ono Of eFx

Posted By Mike on July 27, 2009

Lightsabre adds yet a nother distinguished name to their list of celebrity interviews as the UK fan site talks with eFx Collectibles President and CEO, Bryan Ono. Click here for part 1 of the interview with topics ranging from (obviously) collectibles, the unique brand that is The Clone Wars and Bryan's own Star Wars fandom. (follow to the interview section of the site for the interview) Excerpt below:

"Q - Wasn't the Ahsoka lightsabre the first real, 3-d prop from the show? How did the concept for that come about?

A - The Clone Wars is a really unique property in that the director Dave Filoni is a huge Star Wars fan, so he knows Star Wars like the back of his hand. If you look at the things that he integrates into The Clone Wars series, the props and the helmets and everything, you can tell that he is really faithful to the original story. For example, the Ahsoka Tano lightsabre, if you look at it she is a Padawan of Anakin and at the beginning of the movie she was with Obi-Wan, so if you look at her lightsabre you can see the heritage that's built into the lightsabre. It has the pommel from Obi-Wan and the emitter like Anakin's. There's Asajj Ventress as well, her lightsabre is double bladed like Darth Maul and curved like Dooku's. So there's a lot of little things in there that make it faithful to the original films. By having Dave do that, as he's a big fanboy too, it makes everything that much more consistent and people go 'I get it'."

Part 2 of the Bryan Ono interview should go online in about a month following Lightsabre's interview with author Troy Denning in 2 weeks. We'll keep you posted!
