Friend of TFN, Chris K., sent in this great story that can be told best in his own words. See below...
"This is in Rockingham County, North Carolina. In April the Board of Education voted 7-4 to impose school uniforms at two schools in Reidsville. They based their vote on very faulty (some say fraudulent) data. A lot of us have tried for months to get them to rescind their vote. At last month's meeting we spoke for over 2 hours about why the "standard mode of dress" was wrong, and they didn't acknowledge our concerns at all. So, I said a few days later that I was going to attend the next meeting dressed as a Jedi Knight, and give them something to pay attention to!
The meeting was last night. As you can tell from the video (there's a few more clips from news outlets you can find at the link below) I did indeed dress in full Jedi attire, and addressed the board during the public comments portion of the meeting. Another person came dressed in prison stripes and a lot of people wore black armbands in protest.
Something must have worked, because before the end of the meeting the board voted 8-3 to *rescind* the April vote! So no school uniforms. The Force was with us :-)"
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
