Every once in a while, a story comes across the news desk of TFN that puts Star Wars on the back burner for a little bit and brings real life issues to the forefront. In this case, its the unfortunate health of The Empire Strikes Back esteemed director, Irvin Kershner. According to an update posted over on WizardWorld.com, Mr. Kershner has had to cancel his scheduled appearance at the upcoming Anaheim Comic Con due to his on-going battle with cancer.
"Irvin Kershner will not be able to attend the Anaheim Comic Con. He has been battling cancer and was hospitalized on the April 9th. He is now out of the hospital but still not strong enough to make a public appearance, according to his doctors. ?I am very sorry I can?t be at Wizard World?s event this Saturday,? said Kershner. ?I had hoped to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "The Empire Strikes Back" with fans and my friend Billy Dee Williams, but maybe we can all celebrate the 40th together.? ?May the force be with you?and me,? Kershner added."

They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
