"Once again the talented people at Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound have been acknowledged for achievement in the year's slate of movies.
82nd Academy Awards Nominations In the category of Best Achievements in Visual Effects, ILM's work on Star Trek has been nominated for an Academy Award. Recognized in the nomination are ILM's Roger Guyett, Russell Earl and Paul Kavanagh, along with Burt Dalton.
Skywalker Sound was also honored with three nominations, including Avatar for Best Sound Editing, Avatar for Best Sound Mixing and Up for Best Sound Editing. Christopher Boyes was acknowledged for his work on Avatar in both sound mixing and editing, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle for sound editing on Avatar and Michael Silvers and Tom Myers for their work on Up.
BAFTA Award Nominations In the category recognizing Special Visual Effects, ILM is represented for their work on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, with nominations for Tim Alexander alongside John Richardson, Tim Burke and Nicolas Aithadi. For Star Trek, Roger Guyett, Russell Earl, Paul Kavanagh share a nomination with Burt Dalton.
In the Sound category, Avatar earns a nomination for Christopher Boyes, while Up's nomination acknowledges Michael Silvers and Tom Myers."

I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated.
