Last night, Apple founder Steve Jobs died at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. As soon as the news broke, tributes, memories, and well wishes poured in from the general public, tech industry leaders, and mainstream celebrities who have been touched by Jobs' work. President Obama made a statement, as well as former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates.
When Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple, George Lucas, who sold what would become Pixar to Jobs in 1986, said that "Steve?s contributions to technology, marketing and design are overwhelming." Last night, Lucas released a statement that said this of Mr. Jobs:
"The magic of Steve was that while others simply accepted the status quo, he saw the true potential in everything he touched and never compromised on that vision. He leaves behind an incredible family and a legacy that will continue to speak to people for years to come."
On behalf of the entire team here at TheForce.Net, Rebelscum.com, and The ForceCast, our thoughts are with Jobs' wife Laurene and their children. Thanks for everything, Steve.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
