Star Wars Weekends 2011 kicks off on Friday at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando. In addition to the long-awaited official debut of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, this first weekend will feature celebrities like Dave Filoni, Steve Sansweet, and Anthony Daniels, plus a variety of shows and activities geared toward Star Wars fans. Can't make it to Disney World but still want to follow the action? We've got you covered.
TFN is bringing Star Wars Weekends #1 to you courtesy of our reporter on the ground, Mandy B. Throughout the weekend, Mandy will be tweeting, interviewing, and liveblogging (more on that in a second). Her photographer will be snapping pictures of the entire experience, and we'll post a gallery of these high-quality stills at the end of each day. Of course, you'll see live, snapshots of the festivities on Mandy's Twitter feed all day long. (Side note for those of you attending this weekend: If you see Mandy in the park, be sure to say hi and she can tweet a picture with you!)
For this event, we're also trying out a new form of coverage. Mandy will be attending some of the Star Wars shows taking place during the weekend, and to keep us updated on the proceedings, she'll be posting updates on a TFN liveblog. New posts will be published for each show that Mandy covers. All you have to do is click on the post and keep your browser locked to that page; Mandy's updates will appear in real-time, whether they're text, photo, audio, or video.
In addition to all of her live coverage, Mandy plans to conduct interviews with some of the Star Wars celebrities in attendance this weekend. Look for those on TFN in the coming days.
Keep your browser locked to TheForce.Net all weekend long. In the words of our friends at The ForceCast, we're bringing you "No Fan Left Behind" access to Star Wars Weekends #1, May 20-22!
UPDATE: We've just published the first TFN Twitter Board to track Mandy's live-tweeting coverage of this event. Check it out here!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
