Essential Expanded Universe in the LA Times. Posted By Paul on May 12, 2008
Friend of TF.N Marisa has contacted us to let us know that there's a photo-gallery covering the essential Expanded Universe stories on the LA Times website.
In part, I suspect that this may tie in with the release of Troy Denning's climactic "Legacy of the Force" novel, Invincible, and with the start of a media blitz that will ramp up through the computer-game The Force Unleashed, the up-coming Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie and TV series, and the planned live-action series.
It's also connected the story the LA Times ran last week, which quotes George Lucas as saying that there won't be any movies after Return of the Jedi, because the "[i]t's been covered in the books and video games and comic books" (via ClubJade). It may just be off-the-cuff, but that seems to be a more embracing reference to the Expanded Universe than some previous comments attributed to the Man in Plaid.
On the other hand, I doubt that this "top eight" list was inspired by TF.N's own "Top EU" project earlier this year, but it's a good excuse to remind you of the results our Top 100 poll, and the individual lists from Stephen, Adrick and myself. We might even get Wes and Matt to add their own Top 10s, as well....
