I was in the main evening showing (8:15pm) of ROTS on Sunday, May 22nd, at the London Odeon Leicester Square. This is the UK's flagship digital cinema where the London Premiere took place.
Anyway, the film looked spectacular in digital, right until the projector shut down.
The audience of 2000 or so groaned in unison and a few people cried out for their money back with language that'd make Yoda's mother blush... but after 30 seconds or so the projector came back to life and the movie was more or less where it had left off.
Actually it was quite interesting seeing how neatly the shut-down and start-up went with a digital projector. A lot less messy than the negative melting, that's for sure. The audio was a half-second off for a few moments, but it just sort of realigned itself.
Everybody pretty much just got on with things and nobody got hurt :-)
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
